Frequently Asked Questions
MerchantWords compiles and monitors keyword searches and search volume data from buyers worldwide. This allows us to derive unique market insights; and help sellers boost their product visibility and discover new opportunities.
Our goal is simple: To help online sellers, like you, choose the best keywords for your product listings and ppc ad campaigns so you can reach more customers.
It all depends on which MerchantWords plan you choose, and whether you want to pay monthly or yearly.
Plan 1: Get unlimited access to US Data for $30 per month -OR- $300 for the year.
Plan 2: Get unlimited access to Global Data for $60 per month -OR- $600 for the year.
If you choose to pay yearly, you get 12 months for the cost of ten! And there’s no risk; you can cancel anytime.
Keyword data on MerchantWords is updated at least once a month. Though we are always collecting data, we do not publish new data on our site until we are confident in the accuracy of the information.
All our data comes from real buyer searches on marketplaces, like Amazon and Walmart.com.
We look at the relationships between keywords and gather information across hundreds of millions of searches on these online marketplaces. This data is then analyzed using our custom algorithm to estimate the number of searches performed for each search term. Doing this gives us a measure of the popularity of different searches from a buyer’s point of view.
MerchantWords currently publishes keyword data from searches within the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, Japan and Australia; and soon India, the Middle East (Souq.com), and Mexico.
If you would like to see other countries as well, please contact us. We'd love to hear your suggestions!
We continuously refine and improve our processes to produce the most accurate and knowledgable results possible.

Today, MerchantWords indexes keywords and search volume estimates for Amazon; and collects data from Amazon, Walmart and Jet.com.
We plan to support marketplaces like eBay, Etsy, Newegg, and Alibaba in the near future.
If there are others to consider, send us an email and tell us which marketplace you'd like to see!
