Tommy Beringer:

What's up you data-hungry Amazon sellers? This is your host Tommy Beringer of the Sell Rank Win podcast from MerchantWords. And in this podcast, we give you the answers to your most burning questions, actionable insights that you can take away and implement into your business today. So let's go ahead and dive right into today's episode. What do you say? Let's go.

In this podcast, I go over how to find some hidden gem keywords that are going to boost your sales and increase your organic ranking. Now, you do need a MerchantWords account for this, but you can do a 14-day trial and you can also sign up for a free account as well. I also shot this on video, so it would behoove you to head over to our YouTube channel and check out the video as I walk you through all of this. So without further ado, let's go ahead and dive right in.

What's up everybody? Welcome to the Sell Rank Win podcast. And in this episode, I'm going to show you guys how to find some hidden keywords that you will be able to rank easily on, get some sales on, and it'll be at a low-cost bid. So you're going to get the most bang for your buck keywords here. So dive into our classic search tool. All right, so we're going to get started right away here and then enter in your main keyword for your product. And then on the highest or the keyword with the highest amount of search volume, in this case, it is bamboo utensil holder, you want to click on the page one tool. So after you click on P1 here for a page one tool, it will take you right here. That brings up all the data that is being shown currently on the first page of search on Amazon for the keyword bamboo utensil holder.

So this is all the data back from there. And then the next thing you want to do is simply click add all of these to a bulk ASIN search. And what we're doing now with the bulk ASIN search is you're getting the cream of the crop here, the best of the best keywords that all of your competitors are using and are ranking for and getting sales from. And what you want to do also is make sure that you're comparing apples to apples here. So I'm just selecting all of these for this example. But for example, here let me show you if you're selling a bamboo expandable drawer, or excuse me, if you're selling bamboo utensil holder, you want to probably not select bamboo expandable drawer and so on. So all you have to do is simply just unclick it. But for this example, I'm just doing everything on here and it's about ASINs.

So after you're done selecting all of the ASINs that are relevant to your product, then click on the bulk search ASINs button, and then that will bring up our bulk ASIN search tool. So you can get here a couple of ways. You can just go ahead and simply enter in the ASINs if you know the ASINs into the search bar. You can also do it via our bulk search tool. And then just make sure that you are selected onto ASINs, plug them in there, make sure on the right marketplace and click search. So in this case, we were coming over from page one so it was a little bit easier just to find those competitors right then and there. And now what this is doing is bringing up, like I said, all of the reverse ASINs, this is the reverse ASIN search for your top 10 or top 20 competitors.

In this case, it's 48, analyzing 48 ASINs. So you understand how powerful this is, right? Because this is all of the keywords your competitors are using to drive their sales and to drive their rank. So to kind of drill down a little bit more here and get a little bit more granular, to have all of those opportunity keywords kind of rise to the top here, all you're going to do is just use your filters. Well, first you want to sort by descending on the ASIN count column and what this is doing is bringing up, it's showing you the keyword that is the most frequently used across all of your competitors. So that's what this means here. So 48 out of 48 competitors are using bamboo utensil holder. So that's an automatic keyword right there that you want to use if you don't have it in your PPC campaigns or inside of your listing.

So the use case here is for PPC so I'm going to focus on that today. So what you want to do is go to the reviews and this is going to pull up the filter here and you want to filter from zero to 500 average reviews on the first page of search. And that's what this is doing. So this is going to show you more opportunity page ones, higher opportunity page ones for these keywords here. So if across the entire first page of search for a specific keyword here is 300 reviews, that's fairly low. So it's going to be pretty easy to compete on that page. So you know that you're going to be able to get more bang for your buck there. You can enter a lower bid at a lower cost.

You'll have a lower cost per click there in your PPC campaigns. So this is why this is important on filtering by reviews. Because the competition isn't going to be as saturated on top of these keywords. So you can play with this. You can filter from zero to 1000 if you want to open it up more, or if you want to narrow in a little bit further, you can go zero to 100. There will be fewer keywords, but that's totally fine if that's your strategy. I'm just doing zero to 500, just to kind of show you an idea here for an example. And then also what I do here is I filter by search volume and I will go show me all of the keywords that have over 1000 in search volume. So this is going to bring up some keywords that actually are going to have some traffic to it.

So now you're getting all of these keywords back you filtered by reviews. So you know that this isn't going to be that hard to compete on for this keyword since there isn't a lot of reviews on that page. And then also now you know that you're going to have some traffic, there's some demand on this keyword here under the search volume. So you can filter, you can go up to 5,000, if you want. Again, this is just kind of where I start from. Depends on what your goals are for your company and for your business.

This is just a way to kind of narrow down and narrow and zero in on some opportunity keywords that you can start getting some sales on and start ranking on higher by just putting these inside of your PPC campaign and inside of your listings as well. And then what I would do is just download a CSV and take those keywords, put them into a PPC campaign, and then you can go from there and do some proper bid management and you will see some sales from this and you will see some organic ranking increase.
